Fenty Beauty Diamond Bomb All Over Diamond Veil

I honestly even didn’t think about getting this. But when I went to Sephora and saw this beauty I was so much in love and when I swatched it I almost died! So so beautiful and I had to get it!

Let’s first start talking about the gorgeous, gorgeous and very gorgeous packaging. Very sparkly, blush-pink mirror like outer packaging with a polygon shape. The packaging is non-magnetic but closes with a simple click. Compact with a mirror. Truly jewel-like compact. Even the box in which the compact comes is so beautiful. Comes in a limited edition glitter box with a diamond graphic. The highlighter is most beautiful looking. Looks white (greyish white) and sparkles like a diamond. After opening the packaging you are sure to believe this is going to look greyish on the face too. But honestly it doesn’t. It is pure glitter, micro and fine glitter just like fine dust of fairy dust. The base is translucent so its just glitter.

I prefer highlighters that look wet. So I always apply a liquid highlighter underneath my powder ones. But this one delivers just that without any liquid highlighters underneath. It makes skin look wet.

The highlighter has a velvety soft and bouncy texture. It melts right into the skin. Gives a powder finish and no sticky feeling at all. Now when I said its pure glitter and gives powder finish, you might think its going to be everywhere but there is not much fly off. Very pigmented. Just one swipe of the product is all you need for that shimmery highlight. It feels so light weight when applied on the skin.

Perfect for most skin types and texture. But this one might not be for you if you prefer very subtle highlight. This is quite subtle but sparkles so beautifully. No you are not going to look like a disco ball, trust me its so pretty. But if you don’t prefer glitter this is not for you.

The brand suggests using this all over the face underneath your foundation. Now I won’t recommend doing so. Then there are chances of you looking like a disco ball. Applying this on the brow bone, inner corner of the eye and cupids bow also (just as any other highlighters) looks so so pretty, prettier than any other highlighters I have used so far. I also use it as an eye shadow whenever I don’t have much time to do eye makeup and it looks so pretty as an eye shadow too. A very beautiful and sparkly eye shadow. You can also use this as a body highlight especially if you are heading to an event or something like that. Looks so beautiful on the body especially when light reflects, it is stunning.

What I like the most

  • The prettiest packaging.
  • Pure glitter, looks so beautiful on the skin.
  • The powder is very finely milled.
  • When worn it feels weightless and melts into the skin.
  • A little goes a long way.

What I don’t like:

Nothing at all. I just love it.

Overall, I honestly think that the Fenty beauty Diamond Bomb All Over Diamond Veil is the mother and father (brother and sister and uncle and aunt and whoever matters) of all  highlighters. The highlighter is so beautiful just one swipe and you have this beautiful glitter which shines so beautifully as diamond dust. Stays there for the whole day. You definitely need to own one! Or gift this to someone who loves makeup, I am sure they will like it. I highly recommend this product!

MARC JACOBS VELVET NOIR MASCARA REVIEW

Hello lovely people! How are you all doing?

Just as I was planning to write this post, some old memories flashed into my mind. I first bought a mascara mistaking it to be an eyeliner and had no idea how to use it. I felt so sorry for myself even after figuring out how to use the mascara because I was like “Why in the world would anyone use this thing on their lashes”. Stupid, I know! But now, just like you, I can’t live without my mascara.

Now you can obviously tell that today I am going to talk about a mascara (okay genius they have already figured it out from the title). Today’s review is the Marc Jacobs velvet Noir volume mascara. This product was not purchased by me,  this product was sent to me by Influenster. But as always this has nothing to do with my review, which is only based on my experience trying this.

thebeautymascot/marc jacobs velvet noir mascara review

Product claims

The lash-maximizing, curvy brush places the most volume at the hard-to-reach center lash line, and the defining tip styles lashes for major drama. The ultra-concentrated black pigment delivers the greatest visual impact, and the flash volume complextm creates instant, smudge-free length and volume in three strokes or less.

Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara gives you the thickest lashes in a blink. This majorly volumizing mascara delivers instant volume for your most epic lashes yet.

How to Get the Instant Look of False Lashes (in three strokes or less!)
– Apply Velvet Noir in multiple coats, while wet, for maximum volume. Use the tip of the mascara want to separate, define and style lashes.

My thoughts about Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara

thebeautymascot/Marc jacobs velvet noir mascara review

The first thing which attracted me when I first saw the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Volume Mascara was the black, sleek and stylish packaging. Very classy and pretty. The next thing that would grab anybody’s attraction is the wand, which has a somewhat hour glass like shape. Don’t ask me why, but something about the brush made me feel that this kind of brush would be great and I am not wrong. The brush glides on very easily on the lashes, covers all the lashes very well, including the smaller ones. The brush is easy and very comfortable to use.

thebeautymascot/Marc jacobs velvet noir mascara review

But what I like the most about the Marc Jacobs velvet noir mascara is the intense black color of the mascara, very black. The Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara has quite thick, not watery but creamy formula. The mascara applies without clumping. It lengthens, curls and gives my lashes volume. Just one swipe itself delivers great results, but you can easily layer it. Gives that fluttery and full lashes. Does not smudge, smear or flake off throughout the day. It lasts through out the day. But remember this mascara is not water-proof, I honestly don’t prefer water-proof ones as they are very difficult to remove and by trying to remove it, you are going to weigh down some of your precious lashes, that’s so dreadful. The mascara comes off easily with miceller water or oil or any makeup removers.

Most mascaras give your lashes a rigid and thick feeling, if you know what I mean, of course you do! Most mascaras especially the volumizing ones gives that feeling, but this does not. This feels so comfortable.

The only disadvantage  what I can come up with is that, the wand picks a lot of product, so you have to take care about that, otherwise your lashes might be clumpy. If you just ignore that this cute one is a keeper 😛

thebeautymascot/Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara Revew

Final verdict

In love with:

  • Beautiful, classy packaging.
  • Hour glass shaped wand, which is easy to use.
  • Very black.
  • Thick lengthened and curled lashes.
  • Does not smudge, smear or flake off.
  • Lasts all day (and night)
  • Creamy texture.
  • Very comfortable on lashes.
  • Very easy to remove.

Not in love with:

  • The wand might carry too much product, so might end up clumpy if not taken care of that.

Overall, I think the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara is one of my current favorite ones and why not, makes my lashes look fluttery and full. So girls! you have two choices, either watch and get envious of my fluttery and full lashes or get your Velvet noir mascara and get yours! I rate it 4.7/5.

NYX AWAY WE GLOW STROBING CREAM

Hey beautiful people! How are you all doing?

I know I have been quite missing from here, but the support you guys have given me is tremendous and I can’t thank you enough for this. I hope to be more consistent here.  You can follow me on Instagram to  know what’s happening in my life as I am more consistent there.

Today I am up with a new review and I am reviewing the Nyx Away We Glow strobing cream today. I have been using this for some time now and let’s just jump into the review.

Thebeautymascot/Nyw away we glow strobing cream

Product claims

My thoughts about the Nyx Away we glow strobing cream

thebeautymascot/nyx away we glow strobing cream

The Nyx Away we glow strobing cream comes in a squeeze tube packaging with a pump. Now, that’s very thoughtful of the brand. Has a soft, thick consistency. Available in two shades– Bright star (Gold pearls) and Glow-Tini (Pink pearls). I have Bright star and hence I am reviewing that.

The product has an off white color with gold sparkles. I had a doubt if it will give a white cast, but it just blends into your skin. I have a medium complexion and I think the shade Bright star just compliments my complexion so well.

The product blends so well into the skin. Now, you can use this alone for a beautiful sun-kissed look. It gives a beautiful glow to your skin, not greasy. Your skin feels and looks so soft. But this does not look very natural when used alone. I mean, it does look natural but if you look really close you can see the gold particles. But yes, that’s when someone comes close to you (and you don’t want that person to know you have something on your face :P) otherwise it’s fine.

You can also use this product under your foundation, also on top of your foundation. When used both ways it gives a very subtle highlight. You can also mix this with your foundation for a dewy makeup. When you use it on top of your foundation, make sure you blend it really well otherwise it may look a bit cakey. Claims to be moisturizing, which I don’t really think. But my combination skin didn’t feel dry nor oily.

You can also use this instead of a primer, it smooths out your skin, pores almost look blurred but not completely and preps your skin.

Overall

What I like:

  • Beautiful and practical packaging with a pump.
  • Can be used alone for a sun kissed glow or under or over the foundation.
  • Gives a beautiful glow to your face if applied all over the face.
  • Gives a subtle highlight if used to highlight.
  • Lightweight.

What I don’t like:

  • I think for a drugstore product, the price is a bit high. You can get Mac strobe cream, a bit more pricey but the quantity is also more. The  quality of mac one is better than this one.

The Nyw Away We Glow Strobe cream  is  a good one if you are looking for one. This often gets compared to Mac Strobe cream but I think Mac is a better option as the quality is great. The price for both are also almost similar. But the Nyx Away we glow strobe cream is a good one too and worth trying. I rate it 3.8/5.

Have you tried the Nyx Away We Glow Strobe cream?

MAX FACTOR MIRACLE CONTOURING PALETTE

Hiya my lovely people? How have you all been?

Can you imagine makeup before contouring? I certainly can’t, my round face definitely needs contouring to look more defined. And I am sure, there is no better way to define your features than contouring. I know you already know that, just saying 😛

My experience with Max factor Miracle contouring palette

thebeautymascot/Max factor miracle contouring palette

The Max factor miracle contouring palette comes in a sleek, elegant and lightweight packaging. The packaging is perfect for travelling. This palette is refillable, now that’s thoughtful. The palette has a spectrum of 8 natural shades to contour, lift and highlight. This is a universal palette which suits all skin types and surprisingly, I have seen this work for almost all skin tones.

Love how pigmented the shades are.If you want, you can also build up the intensity to get the look you want. The best thing about the Miracle contouring palette is the formula. It has a creamy formula which is very easy to blend. Blends like a dream and looks so natural. Even if you are a beginner, this contour palette is taking you places. Because it is so easy to work with it. Quick and easy contouring it is. Being said that, I have found that the highlight shade doesn’t blend as well as the other shades, but it is still okay.

The shades are very pigmented especially the darker shades. But the intensity is buildable and the lighter shades might sometimes need layering. Even after layering the contour looks quite natural. So you have nothing to worry about when adding that extra layer.  It mimics the shadows in your face, so let’s pretend we have a more defined facial features.

You can use a brush or beauty blender to blend this. You can use even fingers as it blends really well. But I personally prefer using a brush because if you use a sponge you will need more product and the contour will be less visible.

The staying power is also quite good. So I don’t see why you must not be giving this palette a try. Since the Max factor miracle contouring palette is designed by makeup  artists I had high hopes and I must say, it somewhat stays to it’s claims.Um, well almost. Too good for a drugstore palette, I must say.

Overall

What I like:

  • Sleek and travel-friendly packaging.
  • Universal palette, so one palette and everyone in the family can share :P. Well, if you are okay with sharing.
  • Creamy, soft texture allows for quick and easy contouring.
  • Formula which is easily blendable and buildable.

What I don’t like:

  • Some shades does not blend that easily,  but still okay.

I think the Max factor miracle contouring palette is a great drugstore alternative if you are looking for a good contouring palette. Since it blends well and is quick and easy, this palette is perfect even if you are getting started with contouring. Honestly, I still love my Anastasia beverlyhills palette more. But compared to ABS, this one is easier to use.

TARTE SHAPE TAPE FOUNDATION REVIEW (HYDRATING)

Hey lovelies, How have you all been?

Shape tape concealer is a cult favorite and the best selling concealer! I don’t see why not. The formula and the coverage it gives is brilliant. So when Tarte came up with the shape tape foundation, just like any other makeup junkie,  I was very keen to try it. I immediately got it. There are two versions of the Tarte Shape tape foundation, matte and hydrating. I bought the hydrating one but also got a sample of the matte version. Now, if you wish to know whether the Shape tape foundation is as awesome as the concealer, then continue reading.

My experience with the shape tape foundation

thebeautymascot/tarte shape tape foundation

The packaging is almost similar to the shape tape concealer. The matte version especially is a grown up version of the shape tape concealer. Glass bottle and the screw cap is purple colored with gold patterns. The only difference between the packaging of hydrating and matte version is that hydrating one has a blue rim on the bottle whereas matte has a purple one.

The wand is also similar to the shape tape concealer. Bigger doe foot wand. I love ingredients tarte add to their products, very much skin-friendly. The Tarte shape tape foundation is no different. Has skin-benefiting ingredients. Has collagen and hyaluronic acid to plump skin. It also contains biopolymer filling spheres that help to smooth out your complexion while keeping moisture in the skin cells. The ingredients like barley extract firms the outer layer of the skin, Vitamin C which is an anti-oxidant. Also contains Tarte’s signature ingredient, Amazonian clay which has long wear properties.

thebeautymascot/tarte shape tape foundation

The tarte shape tape hydrating foundation has a gel-like texture, is creamy and blendable. I really love the oil-free and creamy formula, which is easy to work. The foundation  has a thick consistency but it does not dry very quickly which means you have ample time to work with it. The matte one on the other hand has a lighter consistency and dries pretty quickly. So you have to act fast.

Speaking about the coverage, claims to be full coverage. It gives a bit more coverage than medium coverage foundations. Which means you can still see the skin underneath. But the coverage is definitely buildable. I really love the satin finish it gives so I prefer the hydrating one over matte, which gives a full coverage.

The tarte shape tape foundation gives upto 12 hours of wear with a luminous finish. You will have to touch up a little bit after about 6-7 hours as my T-zones become a bit oily by then. But not very oily, just a teeny tiny bit. Well, I am talking about summers, in winter it works great. Even then I would say this is perfect during summer.

I am not sure if it’s just me, but I get a cooling effect  when I apply this foundation. Did I mention that the Tarte shape tape foundation is hypoallergenic?

By now you might be convinced that the shape tape foundation, which is a part of their double duty beauty line is a must try. But if you have a darker complexion, then there are chances that you might be totally disappointed by this highly anticipated foundation from Tarte. Why? The shade range is very disappointing. The shape tape foundation is available in 15 shades. But out of the 15 shades only two shades are for dark skinned beauties. The light and medium shades have so many similar shades that you can find atleast 2 or 3 shades suiting your skin tone. But for dark skin, both the shades have a orange undertone. It’s disappointing especially when every brands are coming up with more shades for dark skin (special thanks to Rihanna’s Fenty beauty)

thebeautymascot/tarte shape tape foundation

Look at the luminous finish on my face. How pretty right!

Overall

In love with:

  • Hypoallergic
  • Is packed with skin-benefiting ingredients.
  • Hydrating and has a cooling effect.
  • Gel like and creamy texture.
  • Perfect for summer as it gives a glowy look and resist against sweat.
  • Beautiful satin finish and skin appears smooth and pores are less visible.
  • Stays for upto 12 hours.
  • Gives medium to full coverage.
  • Available in 15 shades.

Not in love with:

  • Though available in 15 shades, the shade range is very disappointing. Just two shades for darker complexions.

The Tarte shape tape foundation (hydrating) is a a very good foundation if you need a luminous finish with medium to full coverage. I love that it is a bit hydrating and does not fade even when you sweat (and I am talking about summers in the middle east) I love how hydrated and smooth my skin feels and I can’t even say how beautiful and natural the finish is. Though, it can be layered to a full coverage, it feels so light on the skin, as if you have no foundation at all. I rate it 4.7/5 and I highly recommend this.

WHY YOU NEED SCALP SCRUBS AND 5 HOMEMADE HAIR SCRUBS

Hey lovely people! How are you all doing?

thebeautymascot/why you need scalp scrubs and homemade scalp scrubs

When I first came across scalp scrubs, I was skeptical and I thought it was another fad product. But on second thoughts, I thought we exfoliate our face, our body then why not our scalp. Especially because we use tons of products on our hair and I am sure just shampooing wasn’t enough. Also thought exfoliating will be a great way to remove dandruff and other build ups and by the way most of the DIY’s we already use to get rid of dandruff already includes exfoliation. So probably we are already doing it. Plus I also thought exfoliating your scalp will be a great way to promote hair growth.

So I decided to do a little bit of a research and here’s what I found out.

Our scalp has  more hair follicles and grease glands than our facial skin. Hence it can become flaky and itchy due to the build up of dead skin cells and sebum. Plus all the styling products and even conditioner can worsen up the situation. So obviously, a good scrub can physically remove all the dead skin cells and build ups. And just as the case with our facial skin the products work better on exfoliated skin and the ingredients in the hair care products we use penetrate much better.

The scalp scrubs can also promote  growth of new hairs so adding a scalp scrub to your routine can be beneficial if you are suffering from thinning hair. So the bottom line is adding a scalp scrub to your hair care routine will be beneficial for your hair.

There are so many scalp scrubs available in the market if you are thinking to get one, try to find the ones with Alpha hydroxy acids or beta hydroxy acids. Below are some of the homemade scalp scrubs that you can easily make and use at home.

Five homemade scalp scrub recipes

Then rinse using shampoo and conditioner.

Things to remember

  • If you have used any styling products then begin by washing your hair with a shampoo otherwise just wet your hair.
  • Use cold water to rinse, never use hot water.
  • Use the scalp scrubs on wet hair only and use a mild shampoo to wash off.
  • Just like any DIY’s, if any irritation occurs, please don’t use. A slight tingling is normal especially when you use the cinnamon-ACV scalp scrub. This just means these scalp scrubs encourage blood flow to your scalp.
  • Use scalp scrubs once a week if you have dry scalp. If you have oily scalp, then you can use 1-2 times a week, but not more than that.

My review of the body shop lip juicer

Can anyone have enough lip balms? No in my case as I have dry lips and winter+dry lips is a very bad combination. When I visited TBS I was immediately attracted to the cute little lip balms, which was their new launch. I really love the cute packaging. The lip juicers are TBS’s version of EOS but not exactly round like EOS, but is pointed and reminds me of the fat colored pencils we used when we were kids. Do you remember those? Are they still available? And why am I asking that 😛 Okay back to the topic.

The lip juicers are inspired by fruit smoothies and are available in 5 shades. These are 100% vegan and formulated with community trade shea butter, marula oil and organic olive oil. The lip juicers does not contain mineral oils, paraffin or petrolatum, which is great to know.

Each lip juicers have a different fruity scent, not very strong but still delicious and it’s really hard not to eat these. These are also tinted and provides a good tint even on my pigmented lips. I have the strawberry, pomegranate and Aloe which has a strawberry scent and gives a red tint.

thebeautymascot/the body shop lip juicers

The body shop lip juicers gets quickly absorbed into your lips ( almost immediately) leaving your lips soft, smooth and hydrated. Your lips are truly nourished and you can feel it. The lip balm stays there for quite some time, actually you don’t feel it’s there but the tint and the moisturisation stays for very long time.

The five available shades are:

  • Kiwi, Kale and Water Melon
  • Raspberry, Beetroot and Ginger
  • Coconut, Passion fruit and carrot
  • Acai, Blueberry and Dragon fruit
  • Strawberry, Pomegranate and Aloe

The Body shop here does not have the former two but I really hope they will stock up soon.

Swatches

thebeautymascot/the body shop lip juicers

Swatches of 1.Coconut, Passion fruit and carrot 2.Acai, Blueberry and Dragon fruit and 3. Strawberry, Pomegranate and Aloe respectively.

Final verdict

What I love:

  • The very adorable packaging, which is handy and easy to carry.
  • Vegan, contains nourishing ingredients.
  • No mineral oil, paraffin and petrolatum.
  • Very beautiful fruity scent.
  • Keeps lips nice and soft.

Not in love with:

  • The quantity might be low for the price.

Overall, I think The body shop lip juicers are a great option to try if you are a lip balm hoarder or you if you need a good lip balm. The yummilicious scent and the cute packaging is definitely going to make you wanna get this if you check this out at their stores. The nourishing ingredients like Shea butter, Marula and organic olive oil will give a smooth and hydrated finish to your lips. I give it a 4.7/5 and I highly recommend this.

Huda beauty Obsessions palette in warm brown

thebeautymascot/huda beauty obsessions palette

The Huda beauty Obsessions palette comes in a sturdy black packaging with a magnetic closure. Not fancy-looking, but I still like how it looks. Compact, light-weight, easy to carry wherever you go and also has a mirror. The Obsessions palette has 9 shades. The palette has a good amount of product even though it looks small. The shadows are placed close, so no extra space wasted and there is no brush, which however is going to be useless.

I bought the warm brown obsessions palette because I loved all the shades in the palette. The Warm brown palette is a warm toned neutral palette and consists of 8 matte shades and one shimmery gold shade. Shades which enable you to create any looks both day to night. All the shades in the palette are so pigmented. They have a smooth, soft, texture some shades are dry and powdery while some other shades have a creamy texture. Either ways, blends so well. There is no fall out or very little fall out. Some shades have absolutely zero fall out, but some shades do have some fall out. But I have noticed that some other palettes like the Electric have fall out.The eye shadows stays all day without creasing.

The warm brown obsessions palette consists of the following shades

#1 A medium-dark red with warm undertones

#2 Brighter, medium orange with strong, warm yellow undertones.

#3 Rich medium dark orange-red with warm undertones.

#4 Deep brown with subtle, warm red undertones.

#5 Rich, medium copper with warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen.

#6 Light yellow with warm undertones.

#7 Medium orange with warm, red undertones.

#8 Light medium brown with warm, yellowish undertones.

#9 Rich, coppery brown with warm undertones.

In love with:

  • The Packaging is small and convenient and hence travel-friendly.
  • The eyeshadows are pigmented,
  • Blends easily.
  • Great amount for the price.
  • Amazing quality

Not in love with:

  • Some palette has fall outs. But the warm brown obsessions palette has comparitively less fall out.

Overall, I really love the Huda Beauty obsessions palette in Warm brown. I would say, if you don’t want to invest in the bigger palettes, then this is definitely a great option since you can choose according to the colors you want. This is also the best palette to carry with you if you are travelling. I would give it a 4.2/5

Makeup forever artist face color palette

thebeautymascot/make up for ever artist of color palette

Let me tell you what the limited edition Makeup forever Artist face color palette is. It is a customizable palette, which you can build from 34 blush, sculpt and highlight shades . You can choose a blush, contour and a highlighter and you can totally customize the palette, depending on your skin color and preference. This is not like the other palettes which come according to your light, medium or skin tone, Makeup forever has gone a step further and lets you choose what works best for your own complexions. You can also choose from matte, shimmer and pearl finishes.

The 34 shades can be bought separately too if you wish. Also a palette for two shades is available. I have the trio.

The palette is a  magnetic palette which is black. Looks classy, sturdy and is so convenient. Great when travelling as you don’t have to carry them individually. This has a mirror, a good one unlike most mirrors coming with other makeup products. The size is so perfect, fits inside your purse. So you can carry it everywhere you go.

I really love the formula, super smooth and buttery soft. No or very little kickback. The pigmentation is brilliant. Blends well into the skin and into each other. Does not emphasis any dryness or texture on skin.

Now let me talk more about the shades I got. The blush shade I got is B314, Highlighter shade  H106, sculpting shade S118. The shade numbers are mentioned at the back of each pan. Blush B314 is a warm coral shade with a satin finish. Such a beautiful shade. H106 is one of the best highlighter shades available especially for medium skin tones, a warm gold with a metallic finish. So so pretty. S118 is a neutral brown shade with a matte finish. I, at first thought this shade was a wrong choice but this particular shade really gave that shadow kind of look, that we are looking for while contouring. Hence the results look almost natural.

All the three shades are pigmented, so use a light hand, especially while playing with the blush and the contour shade. The sculpting powder is matte, the blush has a little bit of sheen and the highlighter will give a glow that can be seen from moon. If you don’t want shimmer and sheen, you have matte options. So no reason to not buy this palette, my friends! The overall look is not too little or too much, just the right amount of color you need. Lasts all day and I am not kidding.

What I really like about the Makeup forever artist face color palette is that the formula is brilliant. Even if you are a beginner in makeup, this palette is super easy to work with, so you can easily play with it. And not messy, in the sense, very little kickback, blends superbly.
