Years back, before getting into some serious skincare routine, toner was something which I thought was unnecessary for my skin. I didn’t want to use too many products on my skin back then. Later on when I realized toner is essential for skincare I started trying out so many of the store-bought toners, from almost every range from most brands. But to be frank I was not really happy about any of them. So after that I started using toners which I made at home. The best part about the toners I make are that I I can customize according to my skin needs and also I can use ingredients which I already have at home . And they work really well! Seriously! So today I am going to tell you about one of my favorite homemade toners, lavender and honey facial toner.
Why use toners on face
Before getting into the lavender and honey facial toner, I thought it would be a good idea to start with why use toners on your face, I mean any toners. So lets start with this first. But if you already know why and you just want to know about the lavender and honey facial toner, you are welcome to scroll down and read just the part you want. So what toners basically do to your skin is:
- It moisturizes.
- It refreshes your skin.
- Balances the pH level.
- Leaves your skin softer and smoother.
The lavender and honey facial toner
So let get into our topic now. The lavender and honey facial toner is one of my favorite toners, like I said. You might have already guessed the two main ingredients by now, lets find out what other ingredients you need and how much.
You need:
- 1/2 tbsp of honey.
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar.
- 1/2 cup water.
- 3-4 drops of lavender essential oil.
How to make the lavender and honey facial toner
If you are using raw honey (that’s best) you have to add about two tablespoons of warm water to dissolve the honey. To this stir in the ACV , water and finally the lavender essential oil. Transfer this to a bottle. And its done!
You can use any other essential oils and prepare the facial toners of your choice by the same method. For example, you can use tea tree oil to prepare your own tea tree facial toner, my other favorite. Or you can just make a very simple facial toner by using juice from one lemon and 1/2 cup water or the ACV facial toner by using 1 part ACV to three parts water.
How to use the lavender and honey facial toner
After you are done cleansing your face, take the toner on a cotton pad and apply it on your face and neck. Or if you are using the spritzing bottle, just spray the facial toner on your face and then follow with your normal skincare routine. This is not just for the lavender and honey facial toner, this method is for using any toners in general.
The benefits of using the lavender and honey facial toner
I have already mentioned the benefits of using toners but this particular facial toner helps in treating acne, and in boosting the renewal of skin apart from the other benefits of using toners like leaving your skin fresher, younger, softer smoother and moisturized.
So what do you think about the lavender and honey facial toner? Or do you have any other favorite facial toners? Please comment below and let me know about it.
This is so cool! I still haven’t found a toner I’m happy with, so I should probably make my own!
